But having said that, I can well understand, that you are not too sure about the topic you want to blog about or create a web site. Some gurus suggest that you follow your passion. But that doesn’t work out most of the times. Either your passion may not have much commercial interests or sometimes it’s just the opposite – too much competition. Competition is good because it shows that people are making money from that particular topic (also known as niche in the internet marketing world) but I wouldn’t recommend at this point of time when you are just getting started.

The best strategy would be to do some research before you actually pick your niche. If you are passionate about something try that before everything else. See if there are enough searches and considerable commerciality. If the results are positive you are in luck; you are not far away from making money from home. But if not there are loads of other stuffs to pick from. Go through web sites like ebay.com, Amazon and you will get a lot of ideas to start with. Whenever you stumble upon something note it and check ( with Google Adwords Keywords Tool) if there are enough searches. Adwords will return with many other related keywords which are all potential candidates for your niche. You an also try the Wordtracker Gtrend Tool to find out a perfect niche to start with. You can also manually check the competitiveness of each of the keywords by the “phrased search” method described in my earlier post.

Actually you need to select a group of closely related keywords. For example if “make money online” is your main keyword or rather key phrase, then you must also emphasize on some other related key words or key phrases like how to make money online, online money making, how to make money online from home etc. etc. By the way, this is only an example. Online money making or making money from home are way too competitive phrases to start with. But I think you have got the idea.

If you are still not sure how to make money from home , Adsense can put you into action right away. And the best part is you don’t have to spend a dime to get started. You can follow the following steps and take your first step forward towards your goal of making money working from home. This is very basic to anyone who is even 2 weeks veteran in this internet marketing field, but I assume that you aren’t one of them.

Step 1 : Sign up for an account with Blogspot.com ( aka Blogger Blog ) and create a Blog. It’s free and if you have a Google or Gmail account you can use that to log in straight away.

Step 2 : Get some content on it. Write your first blog post. You can also insert photos, videos and lots of other cool stuffs. You are not required to have any prior web designing experience, the Bloger interface is very user friendly and any body can do it almost efforlessly. And you learn more when you spend some time with it.

Step 3 : Sign up for Google Adsense program.

Step 4 : Plugin Adsense ad to your Blog. You can either create your ad inside Adsense itself and then copy and paste (it’s that easy) the code in your blog or use the widgets available in the layout section of your blog. All you need to do is choose the ad formay, color and styles and your adsense ad goes live almost instantly.

Step 4 : Promote your blog. Get some traffic And you are on your way to make money right from your home.

But if you can read between lines, there are some advanced stuffs that i haven’t mentioned yet. Like the topic you choose for blogging. Is any topic is good enough ? No, if you are willing to make money from it. Then how are you going to get lots of traffic ? You may also have a few questions to ask like why blogspot.com ? I’m sure almost all of you know what is Adsense. But, just incase you are a complete newbie, Adsense is an affiliate program run by Google. Did you ever come across a site which looks like the one below -

Notice the ad blocks (highlighted). These are Adsense ads which the site owner or the blogger is displaying on his web site or blog. If someone visiting the blog or web site clicks any ad from the ad blocks, the link takes him or her to the advertiser’s web page. The advertiser thus gets traffic and pays Google for it. Google in turn shares a portion of the revenue thus earned with the ad publisher who is displaying the ads on his site. That’s Google Adsense for you in short. Thousands of searchers everyday try to find out how to make some easy money working from home. Unfortunately, a large part of them end up signing up for scummy online programs. Most of these programs are tailor made to rip-off the newbies. Being relatively new in this arena it’s very easy for the newbies to fall pray to these scammers. So, as a new comer you should be aware of these pitfalls and need not knock every “opportunity” that comes your way. I would strongly recommend you to stay away from the following online make money from home schemes – paid surveys, online lotto, online poker, online MLM and any kind of programs that requires any kind of monitory involvements like investing. You don’t have to invest anything at this initial stage to be able to make money from home. There are loads of free resources all over the internet that teach you how to make money from home.

Here in this blog I’ll try to show you how you can make money from home without having to invest almost anything. I used the word almost because there are some costs that can’t be avoided. And that too if you want to have your own hosted site. But there are ways where you can have your web pages hosted for free. I’ll come to that in a while. Apart from that if you wish you can spend a little buying some software program or a cutting edge “how to” book that would help you develop your online venture. But let me remind you again that these are not mandatory and you can do without them. May be if you invest a little you can speed up things a bit, that’s all.

So, even if you’re a mom of three or a college student or a retired person, you can make money from home. Your quest for how make money from home has brought you this far. Now all you need is willingness to learn what you need to learn to earn what could be your first dollar made online.
